A
A
No
lugar...
A
polícia investigou a casa onde morava e encontrou vários indícios
A
jogadora, indignada com a situação, declarou: “Ele volta à
vida dele, enquanto eu ainda não posso, porque estou me recuperar do
Seles
anunciou a sua retirada em 2008.
No
total, ganhou nove Slams.

Death
of Gunter Parche, the fanatic who became "famous" after
attacking tennis player Mônica Seles with a knife during a game in
Germany, due to his rivalry with Steffi Graf
The man who on
April 30, 1993 invaded the tennis court in Hamburg to attack tennis
player Monica Seles, Gunter Parche, has died at the age of
68...
Parche's death took place in August 2022, but has only now
been made public.
The story began in April 1993 in a game between
Magdalena Maleeva and Monica Seles, valid for the quarterfinals of a
tennis tournament in Germany...
At halftime, when Seles was
leading 6-4, 4-3, the player screamed after Parche, 38 at the time,
entered the court, grabbed her from behind and stabbed her with a
knife. of 23 centimeters.
The man tried to take a second stab, but
was prevented by security guards...
Seles was injured and was
unable to finish the game, while Parche was arrested.
At that
time, political reasons were ruled out, but he quickly confessed that
his idolization and love for Steffi Graf had led him to be angry with
Seles...
In fact, Seles, just 19 years old, was number one in
tennis, and shared the leadership with the 22-year-old German Graf,
but at the time of the attack Seles had already surpassed her.
Parche
didn't like that Graf was second and decided to attack Seles in such
a way that she couldn't play anymore, so that Graf would go back to
first place...
The police investigated the house where she lived
and found several indications of her obsession, her room was full of
photos and videos of Graf's victories.
It was also revealed, years
later, that Parche even sent several anonymous letters, even with
money, to the German...
In one, he declared: "I would walk
through fire for her, she is a dreamy creature whose eyes shine like
diamonds and whose hair shines like silk."
After that, Parche
only received a two-year suspended sentence, which Seles still
appealed to get a new trial, but to no avail...
Parche's lawyer
argued that his client suffered from an intellectual disability and
that his intention was only to injure Seles so that she could not
play for some time.
The player, outraged by the situation,
declared: "He returns to his life, while I still can't, because I'm
recovering from the attack that could have killed me. People seem to
have forgotten that this man intentionally attacked me and that he
was not punished."
This attack ended up traumatizing Seles,
who, although she managed to overcome her fears and return to the
game, could not regain the regularity and level of before, although
she did win the 1996 Australian Open.
Seles still won the Olympic
doubles bronze for the United States in 2000 and played officially
until 2003, when an injury forced her to withdraw from the Australian
Open.
Seles announced her withdrawal in 2008.
In total, she has
won nine Slams.
Parche, who always refused to speak in public
about the attack, ended up alone until he ended up in a German
nursing home located in the city of Nordhausen, where he spent the
last 14 years of his life.
According to the Bild newspaper, Parche
died after being found unconscious, with a natural cause of death, in
her room.
